BREAKING: Romney will not be Trump's Secretary of State

The Hill reports that President-elect Donald Trump has called former Governor Mitt Romney to inform him that he is no longer in the running to be Secretary of State. Romney was reportedly at the top of Trump's list for this position, until recently.

The news was broken by Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg, via Twitter.

This comes on the heels of former Trump advisor Roger Stone saying that Trump only held the meeting with Romney about the position in order to "torture him," however Trump's transition team has recently denied these claims.

Sources say that the current frontrunner for Secretary of State is ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson, but Trump says he will make his final announcement Tuesday morning.

Romney himself has left a message on Facebook, saying he considered it an "honor to have been considered," and that his talks with Trump were "enjoyable and enlightening."
