TheBlaze Radio's Mike Opelka lamented Monday that there seems to be only one prominent Democrat willing to openly state that President Donald Trump should be given room to lead: former Vice President Joe Biden.
At a news gathering earlier that day, Opelka reported, the media asked Biden if he believed Trump "deserved a chance to govern." To which Biden replied:
Sure he does. That's exactly why you haven't seen the president on any of the shows. I mean if I was able to charge, you guys would pay me a lot of money to come on the shows — not a joke. That's why you haven't heard anything from us about that. He deserves a chance and in fairness to him, this is a man in my view, who understandably like all the press thought, didn't think he was gonna win.
Biden explained to the reporter that the administration, working with John Podesta, chairman of former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, already had the people in place nine months in advance in preparation for a Clinton victory. But Trump didn't have that luxury.
"So Joe Biden thinks Donald Trump deserves a chance to lead — Joe Biden," Opelka concluded.
