Eric Bolling: Should there be US military intervention in Venezuela?

Rep. Matt Gartz weighs in

"America" host Eric Bolling interviewed Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) Thursday to discuss the tragedy in Venezuela and national security adviser John Bolton, who said U.S. intervention in Venezuela is on the table.

In this clip, Bolling recounted the horrific scene of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's military vehicles mowing over protesters in the streets of Venezuela that was broadcast on live news.

Bolling added that he unequivocally disagrees with Bolton about picking the winner in the Venezuela election.

"Let them figure out who's the boss, then we decide whether we put sanctions on them or provide humanitarian aide," Bolling said.

"There's just not a good record of U.S. getting involved with regime change wars anywhere in the world but there is especially latent resentment in Latin America," Gaetz replied.

He added while U.S. military intervention is favored in Venezuela, the move to intervene polls at less than 20 percent in the rest of Latin America.

Gaetz said he believes the U.S. should offer technical support, logistical support, and humanitarian support to those in Venezuela who are dying at the hands of the Maduro regime, but he disagrees with U.S. military action.

Gaetz and Bolling agreed that if the military intervenes, the blood of the first civilian casualty will be blamed on the U.S.

Bolling added that the U.S has a poor track record when it comes to U.S. military intervention as proved in Syria's civil war when the U.S. armed the rebel force that evolved into ISIS.

What did Bolton say?

On Wednesday, Bolton appeared on Fox News and said, "There's a lot at stake here for the people of Venezuela but for the hemisphere as a whole."
