Starbucks CEO called out Dems over party values, then was attacked for being successful —here's why

The Democrats punish success even if it means eating their own

On Friday's show of "Something's Off With Andrew Heaton," host Andrew Heaton and his guest, Reason's Eric Boehm, discussed football, stadium subsidies, and politicians.

In this clip, Heaton discussed Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, the billionaire longtime Democrat who recently announced a possible bid for president in 2020.

Soon after his announcement, Schultz was attacked by the mainstream media for saying the Democratic Party no longer represents his values, and that he may run as an independent. Heaton noted the failure of the Democrats for the way they punish Americans when they reach financial success in business.

What else?

Earlier, during this episode, Heaton criticized politicians for bringing a professional sports team to their community for the opportunity to gain the favor of their constituents, and even better, the image of a ribbon-cutting ceremony burned in their brain to recall on the campaign trail next election cycle. However, the financial benefits of these teams often do not outweigh the tax burdens placed on their communities.
