Conservative rep introduces bill to defund cities that let illegals vote

Local governments that allow foreign nationals to meddle in U.S. elections at the ballot box would be in for a world of financial hurt under a new bill introduced in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

According to a press release from Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., the Eliminating Foreign Intervention in Elections Act would seek to cut down foreign influence in U.S. elections in two ways: It would empower the Census Bureau to collect and publish information on which state and local governments have non-citizen voting policies, and then strip funds away from those jurisdictions.

“None of the funds made available in any Act may be used to make payments to any unit of local government that permits individuals who are not citizens of the United States to vote in elections for State or local office,” reads section 2 of the two-page bill.

“For generations, brave men and women have fought and died in order to protect the fundamental right of American citizens to participate in free and fair elections,” reads a statement from Duncan in the press release. “Allowing noncitizens to water down the voice of American citizens at the voting booth disrespects their sacrifice and the value of American citizenship.”

The bill is in response to the recent open-borders trend of not only shielding illegal aliens from deportation through sanctuary policies, but even allowing them and other non-citizens to vote in state and local elections. Non-citizens are not allowed to vote in national elections, according to federal law.

Just last week, San Francisco began issuing voter registration documents to illegal immigrants in time for this November’s election. Yes, it’s the same San Francisco that’s considering banning plastic straws, to the chagrin of disabled people, because climate change while the city itself stares down a fecal matter crisis. These guys really have their priorities straight, y’all.
