Levin: The media doesn’t understand freedom of the press

LevinTV host Mark Levin began his radio show Monday evening reacting to legacy media outlets covering for the Left’s priorities under the guise of press freedoms.

“These media outlets throw around the phrase 'freedom of the press'; they have no idea what it means,” he explained. "It’s a slogan for them. It’s a dogma for them."

“The press in this country started as freedom of speech. Then we had the printing presses. These were the brave men who were always threatened, thrown in prison … these were the men who led the battle for the revolution,” he added. “It was very difficult to print a newspaper back then, both the political pressures and the threats, as well as the mechanics of it. Very difficult. There weren’t that many newspapers, but word would spread.”

“Back then the debate was about liberty, individualism, property rights, taxation without representation. Back then the debate was about representative government. Today the debate is about tyranny. How many ways can we impose tyranny on the American people and get them to support it?” Levin concluded.
