Levin: Trump was right to fire ‘drama king’ Comey

Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin started his radio show Tuesday evening reacting to President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey.

President Trump wrote that Comey had to be let go in order to restore “public trust and confidence” in the FBI’s “vital law enforcement mission.”

Levin explained that conservatives were right to be upset that Comey did not recommend indicting Hillary Clinton for her alleged unlawful activity and agreed that it was the right decision to remove the FBI director.

“When I was chief of staff to my attorney general, Edwin Meese, we met often … with law enforcement leaders,” Levin said. “The attorney general has to have … confidence that the FBI director isn’t going rogue. Isn’t operating outside the department rules.”

“I would contend as a substantive matter that Hillary Clinton is very, very lucky that Comey was the director of the FBI,” Levin opined. “She may feel that he hurt her presidential chances, but let me tell you something, she should have been indicted … on multiple counts in violation of the Espionage Act.”

“It’s completely understandable” to axe Comey when the attorney general and the president lose faith in him, Levin explained.

In the next segment, he reminded the audience that Comey’s alleged offenses occurred in July.

“I have never been a fan of this guy Comey,” Levin said. “I thought he was a loose cannon. I thought he was a drama king.”

Levin said that in his years at the Department of Justice, he had never seen a director as incompetent as Comey.

“Hillary Clinton skated. Hillary Clinton violated the Espionage Act. Hillary Clinton gave classified information to our enemies, to our adversaries … by the way that she handled her server,” he concluded.
