Levin on the White House and impeachment: 'You don't participate in a scam'

Friday night on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin tore into House Democrats' impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump and defended the White House for not participating in the one-sided process.

Earlier that day, White House counsel Pat Cipollone blasted the impeachment process as "completely baseless" and having "violated basic

principles of due process and fundamental fairness" in a letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. "Whatever course you choose," the letter concludes, "as the President has recently stated: 'if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business.'"

"The news today is hilarious. The way they position it is, 'The White House will not participate in the impeachment hearings.' Well, what the hell's been going on the last two months?" Levin said. "Secret testimony, public hearings, evidence -- so-called -- evidence denied, witnesses denied, the Republicans denied, cover-up for a phony whistleblower, cover-up for Adam Schiff, and then at the eleventh hour, 'Would the White House like to participate?' Really?"

"So in other words, when the instructions are read to the jury in a courtroom -- this is a parallel -- 'Now, would the defense like to participate?'" Levin said.

"And the president has said absolutely not. And he's right," the host concluded. "You don't participate in a scam and give it the imprimatur of the White House and the executive branch."
