Media: Kavanaugh accuser has 4 witnesses to ‘corroborate’ allegation. Reality: Not so fast

NBC News claims to have obtained sworn declarations from four witnesses who "corroborate" Christine Blasey Ford's sexual misconduct accusations against Brett Kavanaugh. The documents were sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee as evidence meant to support Ford's accusations.

The documents, first reported by USA Today, are statements from Ford's husband and three family friends who support her allegations against Kavanaugh.

Here are the documents:

These are not corroborating witness statements to Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh. This is sworn hearsay by Ford's husband, her son's baseball coach, her friend, and her neighbor. These four "witnesses" are declaring, under oath, that Ford told them about her accusations at some point in the past six years, not to any firsthand knowledge of any assault or any of the events Ford alleges.

As for the potential witnesses who Ford alleges were at this 1980s party where she was allegedly assaulted, they all deny that any assault was committed. Kavanaugh, his friend Mark Judge, a classmate named Patrick Smyth, and a woman named Leland Ingham Keyser have all denied knowledge of the supposed party or any misconduct by Kavanaugh.

There is no evidentiary bombshell here.
