Democratic leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., backed out of a White House budget meeting with President Trump Tuesday due to a Trump tweet beforehand.
In his tweet, the president criticized liberal policies and expressed doubt that Republicans and Democrats could come to a deal.
Meeting with “Chuck and Nancy” today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes. I don’t see a deal!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 28, 2017
In response, the Democratic leaders released a joint statement saying they will not work with President Trump, electing to negotiate with Republican leaders Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., instead.

Congress is running up against a hard Dec. 8 deadline to agree on a deal to fund the government. Democrats are demanding that the deal includes DACA amnesty for “Dreamers,” while President Trump wants increased border security.
Trump has previously threatened a government shutdown for a border wall.
Here’s what President Trump should do: Let the government shut down for a few days if it must. Let radical progressive Democrats continue to obstruct the agenda of the elected Republican majorities after the Democrats ruined health care, fought tax cuts, and continue to out themselves as great hypocrites on sexual harassment.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement calling on the Democratic leaders to “stop the political grandstanding.

Schumer, Pelosi, and the Democrats have no cards to play. Call their bluff.
