Report: Florida concealed carry permit holder defends himself from armed robbery
May 08, 2018
A concealed carry permit holder defended himself from an armed robber Tuesday morning, shooting and killing the would-be assailant, Florida police say.
Fox 35 News reports the shooting incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at a Wells Fargo bank.
The would-be victim is a white male in his 60s who was at an ATM when a Hispanic man in his 20s attempted to rob him at gunpoint. Police said the 60-year-old man, who has a valid concealed carry permit, pulled out his own firearm and fired at the alleged robber.
The two men exchanged fire, and the 60-year-old man managed to drive away and call 911. He then returned to the scene of the crime.
Police said the alleged robber was shot and was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
The older man is reportedly uninjured, thanks to his Second Amendment right to bear arms.
