Since President Obama's issue of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order, illegal immigration numbers have spiked. Conservatives have voiced concerns that amnesty provided under DACA will only embolden future waves of illegal immigration. This amendment by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), would freeze the Obama DACA program and address the root cause of the Summer of 2014 border crisis, DACA. This bill passed the House 216 – 192 on Aug. 1, 2014 and waits further action by the Senate.
