'Arrogant and inauthentic': Glenn Beck calls out AOC's use of 'insulting' fake accent for black audience
April 08, 2019
'Talk about cultural appropriation!'
Borrowing a page from Hillary Clinton's book of bad ideas, Democratic New York Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used a cringe-worthy fake accent while addressing a predominately black audience at the National Action Network conference Friday.
"This is what organizing looks like," said the so-called girl from the Bronx in a sudden (really bad) southern accent. "This is what building power looks like. This is what changing the country looks like. It's when we choose to show up and occupy the room and talk about the things that matter most, talking about our future."
"Reverend, you bring up a funny anecdote," she added, addressing the Reverend Al Sharpton. "I'm proud to be a bartender. Ain't nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with working retail, folding clothes for other people to buy. There is nothing wrong with preparing the food that your neighbors will eat. There is nothing wrong with driving the buses that take your family to work."
On Monday's radio program, Glenn Beck, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere compared Ocasio-Cortez's insulting use of a fake accent while speaking to a black audience to that of former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who had an infamous habit of pandering to certain audiences with similar fake accents.
"There is something going on with the Democrats," said Glenn. "They are arrogant and inauthentic."
He played an audio clip from Ocasio-Cortez's condescending speech, which he also addressed on Twitter Friday night.
"This is so insulting," he added. "Talk about cultural appropriation!"
