BOSTON (AP) — The New England Patriots have confirmed on Twitter and Facebook that quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a car accident but is expected to show up at practice.
The team's Tweet on Thursday morning said: "Patriots QB Tom Brady was in a car accident this morning. He was not hospitalized and is expected at Gillette Stadium today." The team is preparing for its season opener this week.
A law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity says the accident occurred near Brady's home in Boston's Back Bay area around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. The official was not authorized to release names and says Brady declined medical treatment.
Fire officials say a passenger in one vehicle was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.
