“I think he needs to get rid of those teleprompters, and connect."
In an interview this morning with Amy Robach from "Today," former Vice President Walter Mondale had some advice for President Obama: ditch the teleprompters. Or, as Mondale calls them, the "idiot boards":
The New Yorker article referenced by Robach includes a similar scolding from Mondale:
“I think he needs to get rid of those teleprompters, and connect. He’s smart as hell. He can do it. Look right into those cameras and tell people he’s hurting right along with them.”
A lot has been made of Obama's teleprompters. Last month, Scott let us know that MSNBC's Chris Matthews implored Obama to get rid of the "damn" things after stories surfaced that Obama uses them in low-level business meetings.
