They have to know they are lying...

I can't believe the left keeps trotting this out there, but they are.

The claim: One Nation organizers had the 10-2-10 rally planned long before Glenn Beck announced his 8-28 Restoring Honor Rally. It's a claim that has been repeated many times over. Here is one example from the Huffington Post:

"Glenn Beck and much of the mainstream media flattered itself that the One Nation Working Together Rally in Washington D.C. was staged as an answer, no a reaction, to Beck's phony counterinsurgent, badly misnamed Restoring Honor rally that insulted the name, memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was no such thing. The One Nation rally was planned long before Beck dreamed up his tawdry publicity stunt." (emphasis mine)

I could go on for hours about that chunk - but I'll stick to the blatant lie about the timing of the two events. Glenn announced he had reserved the Lincoln Memorial for the 8-28 Rally back on November 21, 2009 during an appearance at the Villages. He again mentioned it on radio the following Monday (the 23rd of November) telling listeners:

"August 28th at the Lincoln Memorial.  Bring your family.  Put it on your calendar, now."

That is indisputable fact. So, when did the One Nation organizers plan their it-had-nothing-to-do-with Glenn rally? Best I can tell using the Google is this: On June 18th, 2010 the NAACP's Ben Jealous announced a 'march for jobs' to take place October 2nd. The One Nation website was created 5 days later on June 23, 2010. I'm not a time expert, but I'm fairly certain November 2009 comes BEFORE June 2010 on the calendar. And if this really was some jobs rally and not about Glenn then why did his name keep coming up during the event? This is a pretty pathetic lie. Almost as pathetic as the crowd envy stricken Big Ed's lie.  It's like Progressives are trying the Jedi mind trick - except minus the Jedi part. We can see the crowd! We can look up the dates! They're just hoping you move along... and go about your business...

**UPDATE**  The National Park Service has confirmed that a One Nation Permit was filed with the Park Services on April 21st at 1:48 PM... Again, I'm no time expert - but I think November 2009 still comes before April 2010.
