"It was a throw away line."
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh isn't backing down from yesterday's "jackass" characterization of President Barack Obama, despite criticism from many in the media.
During his show today, Rush called the comment "a throw away line" and seemed genuinely surprised that his comment was so newsworthy:
For good measure, Rush added: "Calling someone a 'jackass' seems far kinder than to call them a Democrat these days."
