"I'm looking for TV news to be arrested."
A man has been arrested in Florida after he unnecessarily called 911 twice in one night, once requesting deputies bring him business cards, and a second time to report "the media":
From ClickOrlando.com:
Lawrence Gauthier, 61, of Oak Hill, has a history of using the 911 emergency line as his own personal request hot line, Volusia County deputies said.
On Sunday, Gauthier dialed 911 first to request that a deputy bring him business cards and later, while apparently intoxicated, he called 911 and told the dispatcher he wanted the media arrested, but admitted there was no emergency, deputies said.
Deputies said Gauthier has called the Sheriff's Office 16 times since November to request business cards and check up on deputies.
Gautheir was charged with making false 911 calls and taken to the Volusia Branch Jail.
While we don't condone Gauthier's actions, if you call 911 on "the media" we just might have to say: we understand it.
