I guess Gwyneth Paltrow is quitting her day job after all. The star of Country Strong is poised to sign a record deal with Atlantic Records for a country album, according to the New York Post.
Paltrow, in my humble opinion, is a great actress, but she was not made for music. Here she is performing "Forget You" with the charismatic Cee-Lo Green at the Grammys. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Paltrow's performance as painfully--distressingly--embarrassing to watch:

And here is her performance of that same song on the hit-television show, Glee.

And here she is at the Country Music Awards, performing the title song, Country Strong. This performance isn't as bad as the two above, but this may be a case of damning something by faint praise. In any case, where is her stage presence?

Sigh, remember when Gwyneth Paltrow was an amazing actress? I do. But Glee-TV and Hollywood's take on country music are not doing her talents justice. This is the woman who once hit it out of the park as Jane Austen's Emma.

So why is she trying to be the Christina Aguilera of pop-country?
