"so much easier"
Wow.
That was my reaction to the penultimate sentence of a New York Times story titled:
Obama Seeks A Course of Pragmatism In The Middle East
Two years into what some people have called the best job in the world, yet facing a lingering recession, massive unemployment, a threatening debt crisis, and diminishing approval ratings, President Obama may have let his 'inner voice' be heard when he allegedly revealed his dictatorial fantasy, as reported by the Times:
'Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China.'
I wonder who are the 'people' he said this to?
You have to speculate if the President might feel the same if he still had a Democratic-controlled House of Representatives and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate as he did when he was sworn in back in 2009.
It would be so much easier to just have to deal with the rest of the world and let your party do what it wishes in the Legislative Branch.
