If America goes broke, will Obama cancel the party?

The day after America is scheduled to go broke without a raise in the debt ceiling, President Obama is scheduled to boogie down in Chicago with celebrities and other VIPs at a birthday bash/political fundraiser hosted by the Obama Victory Fund 2012, a joint money operation of Obama's 2012 re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

How can you cut a rug with the prez?  Tickets to celebrate Obama's 50th birthday are going for as much as $35,800 a pop.

Can't afford the VIP treatment?  Not to worry -- there are more affordable options for us plebs.  WHD reports:

To show that hope and change is for everyone, a pauper section will be included for those contributing a measly $50. But the general admission ticket is $200, and the more you give, the more you get.

For $1,000, you can sit in the rich people’s area with easy access to alcohol. And for $10,000 you not only get a great seat, but a photo with The Birthday Boy.

Perhaps Timothy Geithner will be doing stand up comedy at a smaller room elsewhere in Chicago the same night, with all proceeds going to fund the federal government.

I eagerly await the outrage from "economist" Susan Feinberg since a ticket to Obama's birthday bash costs more than most Americans make in a week an entire year.
