After Senate Rejects House Debt Bill, Boehner Delivers Fiery 'We're Broke' Debt Speech
July 22, 2011
Dubbed the "worst piece of legislation" by Majority Leader Harry Reid.
While the House-passed Cut, Cap and Balance Act was rejected by the Senate Friday, House Speaker John Boehner is reportedly furious at D.C. politicians who "can't stop spending."
As the clock ticks down to the President's August 3 deadline to make a deal on the debt crisis, an impassioned Boehner spoke on the House floor, saying, “Listen, we’re broke. And, we need to stop the out of control spending spree in Washington, D.C.”
Watch the House Speaker deliver his stern words for Democrats below. From the sound of it, this certainly doesn't seem to be a man who is anywhere close to reaching a compromise.
