Every year lawmakers have to account for their income and assets in disclosure forms. You can find all sorts of goodies in these. For example, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., has a stamp collection valued at $140,000, according to The Hill's annual list of 50 wealthiest lawmakers. Ladies man!
Other crumbs:
- Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Tex., is the wealthiest member of Congress this year, surpassing Sen. John Kerry. Even more interesting, most of his wealth comes from his wife's father, likely making him one of the very few men who actually enjoys having their in-laws around.
- Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's net worth went up by $14 million.
- Rep. Kenny Marchant, R-Tex., has made some dough investing in cows... among other things.
- Much of Sen. Herb Kohl's, D-Wis., earnings come from owning the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks.
