Many said Rick Perry gave a poor performance in the last debate. And no one likes doing what they're not good at. In an interview with "Parade," Perry said he's not a particularly quick draw in debates, but he also put some of the blame for that on the debates themselves.
"A debate is an eight-ring circus, and you have a minute to talk," he said. "Sometimes it can be hard to explain your position on a host of issues. I readily admit I’m not the slickest politician nor the smoothest debater."
That's not unlike Newt Gingrich who, speaking at the Values Voter Summit last weekend, said the solutions he has to offer as a candidate are “more complicated” than the “game show version of a presidential debate” allows.
