After Rick Perry all but said he doesn't like participating in the primary debates on Wednesday, Rick Santorum's scrappy campaign came after him.
"I thought Texas governors were supposed to be tough,” an aide to Santorum said Thursday, according to the New York Times. "How can Governor Perry expect anyone to trust he can take on Obama and the Democratic machine, when he thinks debating his fellow Republicans is too tough? This just shows he doesn’t have what it takes to lead the American people in taking back our country in 2012."
Ouch! Not that it means much. Santorum's campaign is in no position to pull back on its punches. Real Clear Politics has him averaging at 2 percent nationally in the polls.
