Newt Gingrich has seen a sharp rise in his polling numbers over the last week or so. As of Monday, he's averaging nationally in third place at 17.6 percent, according to Real Clear Politics. Mitt Romney is at 22 percent and Herman Cain is at 21 percent.
Appearing on MSNBC, Dan Rather explained what this means for the election in the most curious way. "Newt Gingrich, on the move, is as dangerous as a wounded wolverine," he said.
