Is a Northwestern University Professor Advocating the Government Seizure of All Housing?

"... getting to this point where housing is a right."

Mary Pattillo is a professor of Sociology at prestigious Northwestern University on the banks of Lake Michigan, just north of Chicago. And she's also someone who seems to think that housing is a human right and the U.S. government should consider seizing all housing in America and then distribute the property among the people.

This exchange took place at an Occupy Chicago teach-in event.

One student brings up the subject of the government controlling all housing and the professor steps right up and carries the point forward. She persists, even after one brave student brings up the fact that Cuba -- her model country for government-controlled housing -- has just announced that people will be able to buy and sell homes for the first time since the revolution:

For the record, it costs about $60,000/yr to attend Northwestern University.
