That headline could be blowing things a little out of proportion, but it's worth the thought.
Newt Gingrich supporters like football a bit more than Mitt Romney's and Ron Paul's do, according to an NBC/Marist poll. Sounds American. But unfortunately for Gingrich, the Sugar Bowl has been scheduled for Jan. 3, the same night of the Republican Iowa caucus.
Depending on just how much Gingrich's fans like football, some of them might opt to stay in for the game. Gingrich better say a Hail Mary.
