Oops? Obama Opens 'Class Warfare' Speech By Greeting Texas...But He's in Kansas

"It is great to be back in the state of Texas."

We've all seen spoofs of bands who greet their adoring fans by declaring how great it is to be in their city, only to make a mistake and name the wrong city. And if you haven't, today President Obama gave an example while delivering his "class warfare" speech in Kansas. The question now is: Was it intentional?

National Journal, which doesn't seem to think so, explains:

While giving an economic speech in Osawatomie, Kan., President Obama said, "It is great to be back in the state of Texas." Watch as he quickly corrects himself.

According to the video, Obama brushes it aside, even acting as if it may have been intentional. His prepared remarks, though, show he should have said "Kansas."

Still, the almost instant reaction from the president did seem rehearsed, and The Hill calls the comments a "joke."
