Election watchers generally attribute Newt Gingrich's success in winning the South Carolina primary on Saturday to his performances in recent debates. But it looks like he also tapped into economic concerns. Eight out of 10 voters who said they were "very worried" about the economy threw in with Gingrich, according to the New York Times.
That's gotta feel like a punch to the stomach for Mitt Romney who, since the start of his campaign, has tried making the economy his issue.
Poor guy.
