Occupy DC Targets Exclusive Presidential Dinner, Sen. Lieberman Glitter-Bombed

Occupy DC protesters made their mark Saturday at the Alfalfa Club dinner, targeting the city's top power brokers at the annual event that serves as a who's who of Washington elite.

ABC News reported hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Capitol Hilton, where President Barack Obama was one of the speakers. Demonstrators heckled dinner-goers and attempted to block the guest entrance. No arrests were made.

WUSA-TV reported:

Occupy DC Protesters tested the patience of Metropolitan Police Officers tonight when they threw water and glitter at guests, including Senator Joe Lieberman. Officers did their best manning the two square block perimeter around the Capitol Hilton.

The mostly young crowd turned the protest into what they called a street party for the 99 percent to counter the Alfalfa Club's one percent. The rowdy, topless, and sometimes pot-smoking protesters were not arrested.

In one video posted online, Occupy protesters are seen throwing glitter at a group of dinner attendees as they pass them on the street. The camera zooms in to show the Lieberman, covered in the stuff.

"That's Lieberman, Senator Lieberman," someone says on the video. "Lieberman, you suck!"

According to AFP, protesters danced to Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" and Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" while officers looked on. Several young women "gleefully" bared their breasts, including one who wrote "freedom of expression" on the belly of another. Several men also removed their own shirts.
