Police have just released communication recordings from a high speech chase involving a stolen school bus in Albuquerque, NM. But this wasn't just any ol' school bus-involved high-speed chase. No, this one involved three sets of spike strips, driving on flat tires, and police firing both bean bag and actual bullets to finally stop the driver.

ABC2 reports:

Police received several warning calls about this stolen school bus that was tearing down the highway at high speeds.

About a half dozen police officers gave chase. The pursuit had the crippled bus barreling down the road at more than 75 miles an hour.

Police say the suspect Nathaniel Shipman stole the bus. Authorities wound up using three stop sticks and a pit maneuver to stop the runaway bus.

But even then the suspect did not surrender. Police used bean bags and fired bullets to stop him.

The suspect remains in the hospital and is facing several charges.
