Santorum on Romney vs Obama: 'Stay With What We Have Instead of Taking a Risk

Condemns "Etch A Sketch candidate of the future."

Rick Santorum may think the devil is trying to take over America, but based on comments he made today, he may be of the opinion that it's better to go with the devil you know than the devil you don't. Speaking on the stump in San Antonio, Texas, Santorum said the following:

You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there.  If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future.

This is the first time Santorum has out and out suggested that Obama is preferable to Romney. But whether that accusation will do more to hurt Romney or Santorum is an open question. Even Rep. Ron Paul, who has been the most openly critical of established GOP orthodoxy, has not suggested Obama is a superior alternative to his competition.
