Longtime National Review contributor John Derbyshire was dropped by the magazine on Saturday over a racist column he wrote for a separate online publication. On Tuesday, just three days later, it's deja vu for National Review.
The conservative journal let go of University of Illinois professor Robert Weissberg after discovering that he spoke at a conference for American Renaissance magazine in March. Weissberg had talked about ways of "maintaining whiteness" in "Whitopias."
As was the case with Derbyshire, National Review Editor Rich Lowry wrote a blog post about it. He called Weissberg's speech for American Renaissance "a noxious talk about the future of white nationalism." Lowry said Weissberg will no longer be posting at National Review.
