Cafe owner claims table cloths were 'ripped off, wadded up' by Romney camp
June 13, 2012
Dianne Bauer owns Main Street Cafe in Iowa and she closed half of it down so that Mitt Romney's team could use it for a speech during a campaign stop last week.
Bauer says she didn't get to meet Romney and his staff made a mess out of her restaurant. "Stuff got broke. My table cloths they just got ripped off, wadded up and thrown in the back room," she told a local Fox affiliate.
A few reporters heard Bauer complain about the event and posted it online. Romney's team saw it and the candidate himself called to apologize.
"He responded 'well, I'm sorry your table cloths got ripped off, wadded up and thrown in the back room' and I took it as mocking," she said. "We're the ones he's wanting to get the votes from, you'd think we would have been treated better."
Will somebody get this woman some new table cloths?! Her current ones are apparently ripped off, wadded up and thrown in the back room!
Bauer has vowed not to open up her cafe to any more politicians.
