DUNCE: Media Matters cites WH transcript as proof of bias at AP

A portion of the Associated Press' report on the glitzy, star-studded fundraiser actress Sarah Jessica Parker's held for the president last night read as follows:

Speaking in a dimly lighted, art-filled room, Obama told supporters they would play a critical role in an election that would determine a vision for the nation's future.

"You're the tie-breaker," he said. "You're the ultimate arbiter of which direction this country goes."

I read that earlier today and thought, "Obama tells a room of elite supporters that they're 'the tie-breaker.' Weird"

Later on I saw that liberal media watchdog Media Matters took exception with the AP, writing "In fact, Obama said that the attendees and 'the American people' are the 'tie-breaker' and the 'ultimate arbiter' of the country's direction."

Media Matters wasn't there, so how do they know? Simple; they looked at the most down-the-middle information source they could find: a White House speech transcript.
