William Shatner Has TSA Mishap That Ends with Him Being...Pantsless

"It was awful to have people looking at me with my pants down, probably the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me."

Set your phasers on "embarrassed."

William Shatner of Star Trek fame (plus, countless award-winning entertainment endeavors) was spotted sans pants at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) just a couple of days ago. There is no scandal here. The incident was merely an unfortunate mishap during a routine TSA security check.  (It is a bit comforting to know that celebs get treated as badly as the rest of us by the TSA.)

While the aging actor claims that it was all accidental, and "probably the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me," he's quite busy letting the world know about it. Shortly after the incident, Shatner tweeted the news.

The tweets and online reports also sparked a television appearance. Here is Mr. Shatner reliving the story during a recent appearance on Craig Ferguson's CBS late night show.

Here's a bit of bonus fun. While searching for pictures and video of a pants-free Shatner that might have been captured at LAX, I discovered a funny little video on YouTube promoting a fictitious store called "Shatner's Pants."

Also discovered during this search, Mr. Shatner's website is selling some (sort of) famous pants.

For a mere $249 (plus S&H), Star Trek fans can own the pants that Lori Petty wore during an episode of "Star Trek Voyager."

What a fantastic item from a mainstream actress and main Voyager guest star! These pants come with a COA from WilliamShatner.com.

Beam me up, Scotty.
