Man catering Obama event wears shirt mocking 'You didn't build that' gaffe
August 15, 2012
The Village Corner Deli was hired to cater a campaign event for President Obama in Iowa today. Ross Murty, co-owner of the deli, is a Republican and wasn't tipped off about who his customer would be by his Democratic business partner. He wore a shirt with a sassy slogan in protest.
Serving up pulled pork, beans and cheesy potatoes for the press at the president’s campaign event this evening, Murty wore a T-shirt that said, “Government Didn’t Build my Business, I Did.”
Murty's parnter, Bret Dalton told ABC News of the situation: "Oh gosh, please don’t let this end up on national TV.”
