For more than a month Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Ill.) has been seeking treatment for what his wife Sandi called a "completely debilitat[ing]" depression. Reports now say Jackson has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Former Rep. Jack Kennedy visited Jackson at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. yesterday. "I don't think people understand the depth of his depression," Kennedy told the AP. "It's deep. He has a lot of work to continue to do to be able to learn how to treat this illness in the most effective way possible. Depression is a serious thing, and I'm glad that he's taking it seriously."
And there's the photo AP snapped of Kennedy meeting with Jackson, who looks thinner and unkempt. Not good.
