The Democratic National Committee is set to announce several of its headlining speakers for the party convention today, according to the Washington Post.
On the list: Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Deval Patrick, who succeeded Romney as governor of Massachusetts.
Plans for other speakers were released two weeks ago that detailed the types of people Democrats planned to highlight at the convention in order to draw attention to certain policy issues, including the repeal of DADT, immigration and abortion rights.
The convention is scheduled to run in Charlotte, N.C., from Sept. 3-6.
