Gabrielle Giffords to lead Pledge of Allegiance at DNC

Tonight, the final night of the Democratic National Convention, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, according to the Washington Post.

There were rumors yesterday that Giffords was already at the convention in Charlotte. Democratic Committee Chairworman Debbie Wasserman Schultz later in the evening denied the rumors.

Giffords resigned from Congress in January, a little more than a year after she was shot in the head at an outdoor event for her Tuscon constituents.
