So speaking of the 47% and how "out of touch" Mitt Romney apparently is with the average American voter...

In this morning's must-reads, I linked to a New York Post story about Barack Obama's glitzy fundraiser with Beyonce and Jay-Z (or Jay and Bey as Obama affectionately refers to them), complete with a massive champagne tower -- of which, coincidentally, the Obama campaign has tried to ban press photos. It's no wonder -- each of the 350 bottles in the tower cost about $300 each. That amounts to about $105,000 worth of champagne - more than twice the median household income of the average American family.

If I were an Obama campaign donor, I'd be pretty ticked to see this picture and hear these figures.  The Obama campaign sends out several emails every day to supporters begging for small-dollar donations and insisting the Republicans have such an unfair spending advantage, yet the president has no problem spending tens of thousands on schmoozing high-dollar donors with high-priced bubbly?  Money hardly well-spent.
