NY Jets Owner Woody Johnson: Mitt Romney Win More Important Than Jets Winning Season

"I think it's very, very important..."

In a way, football is Woody Johnson's life. He owns the New York Jets after all, one of the most storied franchises in the NFL.

So Johnson likely shocked a lot of people when he appeared on Bloomberg TV on Monday and said he would rather see GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney win the election than a winning Jets season. For him, getting President Barack Obama out of office is apparently that important.

"Well I think you always have to put country first. So I think it's very, very important that for - not only us - but in particular for our kids and grandkids that this election come off with Mitt Romney and (Paul) Ryan as president and vice president," he said.

Johnson also said the fans deserve a better performance from their team than they saw in the Jets' 34-0 loss on Sunday, calling it "absolutely unacceptable."
