Jim Lehrer fears he will 'miss something' moderating debate

Ahead of tonight's presidential debate, former PBS news anchor Jim Lehrer, who will moderate, opened up about some anxiety he's having.

“The greatest fear of a moderator is that he or she will miss something,” he told the Washington Post yesterday in Denver. “If the candidate says it, and you let it go by, you have a hard time getting them back to clarify or explain. The fear of it is what makes me prepare as hard as I do.”

Tonight's event mark's Lehrer's 12th time moderating a presidential debate.
