On Fox News today Political Correspondent Carl Cameron defended CNN's Candy Crowley from criticism she's facing ahead of tomorrow's presidential debate, which Crowley will moderate.
"If any side [in the debate] is going to be helped by Candy Crowley's presence, it's supposed to be the audience and the voting public," Cameron told his colleague Megyn Kelly. "She's a pro. She understands that. She's not the kind of person who's going to be throwing bombs. But she might have a very sharp little stiletto."
Kelly moved on without a blink.
Coincidentally, Cameron's remarks came just after Kelly anchored a separate segment on Crowley: One that specifically questioned whether the criticism of her has anything to do with sexism.
Both the Obama and Romney campaigns have complained that Crowley may take a more pro-active role in moderating than what each side originally anticipated.
