Tonight’s debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., between President Barack Obama and GOP challenger Gov. Mitt Romney will cover both foreign and domestic policy topics in a townhall-style format. CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley will serve as moderator.
Format: The debate program starts at 9 p.m. ET. Citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic policy issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, plus an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants are undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
