For Harry Potter, there is the name that dare not be spoken, his archenemy Lord Voldemort. But give Harry credit: He is defiant enough to speak the name out loud, always to a chorus of "shush!" ...

But perhaps nowhere has the silence been louder than on the issue of gun violence.
