When Do the Swing State Polls Close?

Today - election day - is likely to give election prognosticators a fit as the messy process of voting actually transpires in the swing states. However, the tension will only really ramp up in earnest once the polls close tonight, especially in the most notable swing states.

However, those states won't close all at once, which raises the question of when you should actually start tuning in.

Well, here's your answer. Below are the closing times for the biggest swing states this election cycle (all in Eastern Standard Time):

6:00 p.m: Indiana

7:00 p.m: Virginia

7:30 p.m: North Carolina, Ohio. Ohio residents will be allowed to vote provisionally until 7:30 if they are still in line when the polls close.

8:00 p.m: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Florida. Some polls in New Hampshire and Florida will have closed already, but this marks the final cutoff point for both states.

9:00 p.m: Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin.

10:00 p.m: Iowa, Nevada.
