Terrifying Accident at the Winter X Games Sends Rider Flying and a Snowmobile Careening Into the Crowd

Snowmobiler Jackson Strong was performing his best trick during GoPro's Winter X Games Sunday when things went awry and he fell mid-trick out of the air, sending his snowmobile -- with the throttle stuck -- into a crowd of fans.

One fan at the Aspen, Colo., event was treated for an injury, but the Associated Press noted that it's not clear if the injury was incurred by the snowmobile itself or when the person jumped out of the way.

Watch the footage:

The snowmobile became tangled in a plastic fence when Jeremy Bester, of Prior Lake, Minn., was able to run over and stop the sled from moving, the AP reported.

This wasn't the first snowmobiling accident at the games either. Caleb Moore underwent surgery Friday for a brain contusion after he was seriously injured Thursday while performing a trick in the freestyle finals.
