Barbara Walters has chicken pox

While in Washington, D.C. for inauguration festivities, ABC's Barbara Walters pulled "a Hillary" -- that is, she fell and hit her head. After that, the talk show host was transferred to a hospital in New York with a persistant temperature.

As it turns out, she has the pox -- chicken pox.

And thankfully, we have Whoopie Goldberg to divulge Walters' personal medical information on national television.  “We want to give you an update on Barbara. You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood. Barbara has the chicken pox,” Goldberg said.

“She’d never had it as a child. So now she’s been told to rest, she’s not allowed any visitors. and we’re telling you, Barbara, no scratching."

Coming down with a childhood illness like chicken pox at Walters' age can be pretty serious.  See a report with more info on adult chicken pox from ABC News after the jump.
